The Storm Twins, born in the midst of the Great Firestorms that ravaged the world. Imbued with such power that they could defeat the greatest of all creatures.

The Dragon.

One held mastery of Water.

The other, mastery of Lightening.

In the hands of a true wielder, they could unite and bring forth the true power of the storm.

The Mighty Typhoon.

Many coveted these twins, and they were soon lost to each other, used to fight many wars.

None so destructive as that between Garne and Elna, which left the battleground a wasteland full of bodies that could not decay, a warning to those who would use the twins against each other.

There still they lie, in the hands of their bearers, still crossed, blade against blade, brother against sister, waiting for their true wielder to take up arms at last.

Word has reached the Queen of Garne that the Mad King of Elna is sending troops into the Wastes to recover the Twins, and desperate to broker peace between the two Kingdoms, determined the end the centuries of war, she has send her most trusted aide to retrieve the swords, so that she might hide or destroy them.

Lord Byron makes his way into the Frozen Wastes, a terrible tableau of the war that raged there three years ago, filled with bodies that look as if they have just died, a warning that the Storm Twins, magical blades imbued with great power, should never be crossed.

Troops from Elna march indeed, but ahead of them, like a thief in the night, is Iora, determined to find the Storm Twins, to use them as leverage to get what she wants, revenge for the exile, and probable death of her older brother Josef, who, disillusioned by the war he fought in three years ago, spoke out for an end to the violence between the Kingdoms.

Inside the Frozen Wastes, the Storm Twins lie, waiting to be picked up by their true wielder, and perhaps to fulfil the purpose they were created for so many centuries ago

Planned features

-Traditional Turn Based Battle System

I have always enjoyed turn based battles when playing a fantasy game, I enjoy the way I have time to decide what skills I want to use, and the ability to go back and change choices etc. I feel for this game that this system would be the best, as it is the one I am most familar with and I would hate to ruin the game by trying something that I cannot implment properly.

-On Map Enemies

The player will have the choice to engage in battle or bypass them, there will be no random encounters you will have to approach an on map enemy and engage them in battle. The few story based battles will be unavoidable.

-No Levels

I thought long and hard about this, and decided that it would make more sense gamewise for there to be no levels and have the players customise their characters with Various Gems, that will give them stat boosts.

-Crafting System

The game takes place outside of towns and villages. The player will rarely get the chance to visit a shop (twice early in the game, and maybe twice later in the game), so they will have to craft their own potions and healing solutions as the game progresses.  On Map enemies will drop items that can be used in crafting.

-Gem System

The Gem system will allow players to customise their characters in anyway they choose. Players will have limited Gem slots to utilise, but there will be options to upgrade as the game progresses.There will be three types of Gems;

Attack: which will boost attack stats like Attack & Agility

Defense: which will boost attack stats like Defense & Health

Magic: which can only be used by Queen Susan who is a trained Magic Gem User.

Where it's all based

Frozen Wastes

The Entrance to the Frozen Wastes from Garne

The Captiol City of Elna

Cannibal Mountains : Home to the Cannibal Cattai Mountain Tribe

The Opening scene of the game, all art is mine (which is why it's rubbish, but I did try!)

Storm Twins first game to life in around 2013 I think, in VXAce. I just sat in front of my computer opened the program and suddenly a story just appeared on screen.

I was shocked.

In my first push I had created 5 chapters of the game. None of them very long, they could all be completed in less than 20 miniutes each, and I had plans for a further 3 chapters.

It's been one of those games that has sat in the back of my mind, and I'd go back sometimes and tinker with the maps, or sit playing out the story in my mind. I never finished it. Obviously. But thanks to the IGMC two years ago, and the creation of Corruption (which I am still working on, slowly but surely I promise), followed the next year by A Witches Heart, all set in my Thorntop universe, I begam to revist the idea of going back properly to Storm Twins.

So I have.

Now as I'm sure you have probably noticed I have a tendancy to flit from game to game. I tend to do this when I hit a snag and need to work through it, so this may be slow going as I work on both Corruption and Storm Twins, but I hope the effort and the wait will be worth it in the end.

I will try to update information on what I'm working on as I go along, so stick with me!
