Lockdown Log 2


Hi all, it's been a while, but rest assured I've been working hard. I just wanted to drop a line to let you know where we stand with the game at the moment.

1: Mapping, I am currently about 70% done with the first of three floors of the Witchfinders Keep. Due to the fact that I'm upgrading the game to RPGMaker MV, while still using the VXAce Ancient Dungeons tileset by Celianna, I've had to make the general base of each room in Gimp, rearrange the tilesheets to fit into a 48x48 cell size that 32x32, and then decorate the map in the engine. So the map making process is a bit slow.  Please enjoy the video of the first map in the game below.

2: Art. Well, what can I say, the art is coming on very well. Not only have I finished designing the characters art, I have also made the enemies from the game as well. They aren't many, and I am unlikely to add more, but I'm quite proud of them. As you can see, I made one of each kind and then recoloured or otherwise slightly modified them. As I am not an artist this seemed like the best way to do it rather than try and make something overly complicated.

I also commissioned Hiddenone to make me some character sprites to fit the game and the character art better. I'm very pleased with the results.

I hope the work I've done has given you some assurance that I'm doing my Utmost to turn this game into something fresh and just different enough to really stand out.
